Discovery was named as a California Distinguished School in 1995, 2000 and 2004 by the California State Department of Education.
Discovery also received the National Blue Ribbon Award in 1996-97.
The school enjoys strong parent and community support. The Discovery Parent Club, School Site Council, and Principal’s Advisory meet regularly to plan and discuss site issues and implement projects beneficial to the school. There is extensive use of community resources in support of the education program.
