Expanded Learning Opportunity Program

The Expanded Learning Opportunity Program's purpose is to provide students with a safe and supportive environment before school, after school, and summer learning programs that complement, but do not replicate learning activities in the regular school day.

The program will provide activities that teach our students to be critical thinkers, to collaborate, to communicate, and to be creative. We will maintain high expectations as we grow and support our students academic, social-emotional learning, and physical fitness. Students will engage in building these skills through partnerships with i9 Sports, SPARK, Quest, Lego Education, The Leader in Me, EVERFI and Seesaw.

In collaboration with EVERFI, students will build skills in a variety of areas. Grades TK-4 will complete The Compassion Project which defines empathy and compassion, practicing mindfulness and growth mindset, identifying emotions, and performing acts of kindness. Grades TK-2 will practice vowel sounds and vocabulary using Word Force. Grades TK-6 will complete Healthier Me classes that teach exercise fundamentals, basic food groups, well-balanced meals, and healthy habits. Grades 4-6 will enjoy several science and math units that focus on investigation, collaboration, and understanding money.
Participants may  also receive direct instruction in a myriad of subjects by our own certificated staff. Activities may include math enrichment, drama, hands-on science, coding, typing, and the list continues to expand.

ELO operates Monday through Friday from school dismissal time to 5:15 p.m., throughout the school year.

Activities include the following components:
● Physical Activities/Youth Development
● STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) enrichment
● Computer Science
● Collaborative Problem-Solving
● Fine Arts
● Nutritious Snack
